What are Some Factors Affecting the Value of Your Collection?

Collections are complicated to value.  There are numerous  positive and negative factors that effect the valuation of your comic collection.  It also depends on the approach you take to sell the election.  Here are some positive factors that can increase the value of your collection:

• High-grade condition (VF/NM or better)
• Complete runs or near-complete runs
• Key issues and first appearances
• Proper storage and organization
• Accurate pre-inventory by seller

There are also negative factors that will effect the value of your collection.  The following are negative factors effecting the valuation of your collection:

• Poor condition (below VG)
• Heavy duplication without variants
• Common issues from overprinted eras
• Missing key issues from otherwise complete runs
• Restoration or undisclosed damage
